Obituary for William "Blondie" Muncy

William “Blondie” Muncy 78 years old of Warfield, KY; went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Sept. 2, 2022 at the Highland ARH Hospital in Prestonsburg, KY. He was born on December 5, 1943 in Kentucky, he was a son of the late Columbus and Laudie Moore Muncy. Blondie is preceded in death by his parents as well as his siblings; Grover Muncy, Columbus “Junior” Muncy, Orel “Tootsie” Muncy, and Eugene Muncy as well as great grandson, Parker Ray Smith.

Blondie was a Coal Miner for 30 years and retired from Wolf Creek Colliers and was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church of Lenore, WV. He loved to ride his jeep in the hills, tinker in his garage, watch westerns on TV, and he was always the first in line to eat and never turned down sweets.

Blondie is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mabel Muncy as well as his children; Claudia (Earl) Cook of Inez, KY, Vanessa Muncy Crum of Van Lear, KY, Michelle Muncy of Lovely, KY, Phillip Muncy of Kermit, WV, Prentice Muncy of Lowmansville, KY and grandchildren, Caiden Dillon, Keon Muncy, Kendrick Marcum, Kendra Smith, Courtland Cook, Joshua Loredo, great granddaughter, Karoline Smith and sister, Nellie Muncy, brother, James “Bear” Muncy and many nieces and nephews and his faithful sidekick and companion, Chynna Pug.

He will be tremendously be missed by his family and friends but most of all the love of his life, his little Poo Poo, Chynna. The family will be providing masks to those who wish to wear them.

Visitation will be from 6-8pm Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022 at Mullins Family Funeral Home with visitation being held from 12:00pm til 1pm on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at the Fellowship Baptist Church with services being conducted at 1pm with Pastor Don Stroud officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery of Kermit, WV. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be serving the family of William “Blondie” Muncy.
