Obituary for Walter Marcum
Walter Marcum 78 of Stone Coal, WV; went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at his home. He was born on August 18, 1941 in Crum, WV; he was a son of the late James and Ellen Damron Marcum. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Walter was a retired coal miner for Marrowbone Coal Company and attended the Golden Springs Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Delores Parsley Marcum as well as son, David (Tina D.) Marcum of Culloden, WV, daughter, Melissa Ann Marcum of Crum, WV, and grandson, Joshua David Marcum of Culloden, WV. Walter is also survived by his brother, James (Lahoma) Marcum of Belleville, Michigan, nephew, Jimmy Stumbo of Crum, WV and many nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 10, 2020 at 1:00pm at the Golden Springs Freewill Baptist Church with Bobby Perry officiating. Burial will follow in the Marcum Family Cemetery of Stone Coal, WV. Visitation will be after 5pm on Thursday at the church. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Stumbo, Joshua Marcum, Zendil Nichols, Clyde Parsley, Alvie Parsley, and Jack Parsley.
