Obituary for Walter Fields

Walter Fields 93, of Kermit, WV went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at the Emogene Dolin Hospice House of Huntington, WV. He was born on August 27, 1926 in Stone Coal, WV; he was a son of the late Elbey and Rosabell Workman Fields. Walter is preceded in death by his siblings; Emory Fields and Lewis Fields who was killed in war, Josie Block, Effie Marcum, Wilda Perry and others. Walter was a coal miner, a pinkerton guard in which he was awarded many certificates and high honors, and was also an Ordained Minister.
Walter is survived by his children; Willie (Georgia) Fields of North Carolina, Rose (Robert) Spurlock of Dans Br., WV, Kathy (David) Spurlock of Kermit, WV, John (Loretta) Fields of Williamson, WV, Charlotte (Eugene) Spurlock of Kermit, WV, Norma Fields and Jesse Messer of Kermit, WV and Effie Fields of Stepptown, WV as well as numerous grandchildren and family and friends.
In accordance to the guidance set forth by Governor Andy Beshear, the Kentucky Funeral Directors Association, and The Center for Disease Control, private graveside services will be conducted for the immediate family. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be serving the family of Walter Fields.
