Obituary for Virgil Perry

Virgil Perry 73, of Kermit, WV, departed this life on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at South Williamson, KY in the Tug Valley A.R.H. in South Williamson, Ky. He was born on March 28, 1948 in Kermit, WV; he was a son of the late Lark and Delcie (Hodge) Perry. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Hanna Mae Marcum and Rosa Lee Clay.

Virgil was a retired coal miner, who enjoyed spending time with loved ones, hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He was known for his love of old cars.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Helen Williamson Perry, two children; Virgil (Karen) Perry of Kermit, WV and Virginia Perry of Wayne, WV, four grandchildren; Keyton (Alexis) Lowe of Omar, WV, Kenton (Morgan) Lowe of Breeden, WV, Charity (Winnie) Newsome of Holden, WV and Ethan Perry of Kermit, WV, 5 great grandchildren, Easton, Keytlee, Dawson, Kinzlee, and Ellie. Virgil is also survived by his 3 sisters and 1 brother, Sally Primmer, Imojean Messer, Earnestine Lackey and Daniel (Maxine) Perry as well as two brother in laws, Billy Williamson and James Williamson and a host of nieces and nephews. Virgil had many friends including a special friend, Dallas Messer.

Visitation will be from 6-8pm on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at the Mullins Family Funeral Home with funeral services being conducted on Monday, March 14, 2022 at 1:00pm at the funeral home with Freddy Messer Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Lark Perry Cemetery of Jennies Creek, WV. Masks are optional by request of family.
