Obituary for Sampson "Samp" Stacy

Sampson (Samp) Stacy 76 of Kermit, WV passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Kings Daughter’s Medical Center in Ashland, KY. He was born on April 29, 1942 in Martin County, KY; he was a son of the late Jeff and Ollie Moore Stacy. Samp was preceded in death by his spouse, Patricia Messer Stacy as well as a child; Sampson Stacy Jr., brother, Clarence Stacy and sister, Mae Sites. He was a retired coal miner from the Martin County Coal Corporation, a Christian and of the Baptist Faith.
Samp leaves behind his children; Jeff (Margie) Stacy of Yellow Creek, KY, Elige (Karen) Stacy of Tomahawk, KY, Timothy (Christine) Stacy of Kermit, WV, Karen Quillen of Lexington, KY, Etta (Donald) Kiser of Kermit, WV, Georgetta Robinson of Brushy, KY as well as 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He also is survived by his siblings; Elmer “Bud” (Nina) Stacy of Tolsia, WV, Dora (Jess) Dillon of Dunlow, WV, Sadie (Rick) Marcum of Belfry, KY, Azzie (George) Adkins of Lovely, KY, Helen (Johnny) Reed of Inez, KY and Mary Richardson of Crum, WV as well as many extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 1:00pm at the Lighthouse Community Church with Keith Brumfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Messer Cemetery in Kermit, WV. Visitation will on Tuesday from 6-9pm at the church. In lieu of flowers donations are asked to be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
