Obituary for Rev. Landon ""Duke"" Bragg

Rev. Landon “Duke” Bragg went home to be with the Lord, his loving wife, son, and other family members on Friday, November 12, 2021 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, WV; surrounded by his family after they celebrated his birthday by singing happy birthday one last time while loving on him.

Duke was born on November 12, 1936 to the late Junior Randolph and Roxie Marcum Bragg of Old Fork, Kermit, WV. He was a true man of God who preached the full Gospel of Jesus with his whole heart and loved seeing others blessed. He loved playing and hausing with his grandkids and helping his family with every project they may have had. These are memories that his family will cherish and hold dear to their hearts. He also had a love and passion for horses that will continue to live on with his memory.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Junior Randolph and Roxie Bragg, his loving wife of 60 wonderful years, Virginia Lee “Jenny” Bragg, son, Jerry Lee Bragg Sr., two brothers, Leonard and Lincoln Bragg.

Duke leaves behind a whole host of family and friends, who will love and miss him always. Daughter, Sherrie (Punk) Bragg, son, Terry Lee (Sherri) Bragg, daughter, Lugena (Mike) Sluss, son, DA (Pooh) Bragg, daughter, Nicole (Junior) Angel, daughter-in-law, Avis (Jerry) Bragg, 10 wonderful grandkids, 24 wonderful great grandkids, 1 wonderful great-great grandchild. Brother, Ray (Jean) Bragg 5 sisters, Shelby Senters, Jodi Sword, Ruthie Davis, Edith Cline, and Jenny Cook. He also leaves behind his last companion that he loved dearly, his dog, Benji.

Visitation will be from 6-9pm Monday, Nov. 15, 2021 and Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021 at the East Kermit Church of God, Kermit, WV with funeral services being conducted on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at the East Kermit Church of God at 1:00pm with Otis Linville officiating. Burial will follow in the Bragg Cemetery of Braggsville Road, Jennies Creek, WV. In response to the COVID-19 virus, attendees are encouraged to wear face masks and practice social distancing when possible.
