Martha Mae (Maynard) Collins 91, of Jennies Creek, WV; went to her new home on October 1, 2019. She passed away at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 4, 1928 in Breeden, WV to the late James Albert and Peggie Clementine (Taylor) Maynard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kester W. Collins, 9 brothers and sisters, her dear friend, William (Bill) Clay and one granddaughter, Tonya Collins. Martha Mae lived with her daughter until her passing. She loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed being outside tending to her flowers, sewing, quilting, and attending church.
Those left behind to cherish her memory, include her 2 children, Danny (Alice) Collins and Karis (Roger) Messer, one brother, Ernie Maynard, 8 grandchildren, Roger (Kelly) Messer, Scottie (Kimberly) Messer, Gary Messer, Kayla (Brett) Chafin, Stacie (Phillip) McLaughlin, Karis (Matthew) Collins, Kester D. Collins, Dennis (Artisha) Collins, and 13 great grandchildren; Clayton, Kandis, Rachel, Abigail, Gary Lee, Hailey, Nathan, Addison, Jaxon, Payton, Hannah, Paxton, and Aurora.
Martha Mae gave her life to the Lord at the young age of 13 and attended many churches in her community where she enjoyed singing about her new heavenly home.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 4, 2019 at the Mullins Family Funeral Home with Eugene Marcum officiating. Burial will follow in the Maynard Cemetery of Breeden, WV. Visitation will be on Thursday from 6-9pm at the Mullins Family Funeral Home. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be serving the family of Martha Collins.
