Mae Alley, of Hode KY, passed away on July 5, 2020. She was born on March 14, 1942 to the late John C. and Exie Mae Mollett.
Mae was preceded in death by her loving husband Sherlin Alley; her sisters Barbara Ratliff, Geneva Holshoe, Sadie Hashman, and Lottie Jean Wheeler; and her brothers Homer Mollett, Carl Mollett, and William Alfonzo Mollett.
She is survived by her children Sherlin Alley, Jr. of Hode, Debbie (Ricky) Moore of Louisa, Joyce (Irwin) McGinnis of Inez, and Melinda (Greg) Artrip of Hurricane; her sisters Corrine Fletcher of Hode, Emma Sue Mollett of Louisa; her brother Chester Mollett of Louisa; and a very special sister-in-law Sue Bryant of Hode, who was more like a sister to her (Mae loved her dearly); and 7 grandchildren, along with 8 great-grandchildren.
Mae will always be loved and remembered for her kind and generous heart. She was a proud Christian and a light to all who knew her. “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.”
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 8. Special family visitation will be held at Hearts of Christ Church in Inez KY from 5 to 7pm, followed by church service from 7pm to 9pm, and then visitation will continue from 9pm to 11pm. Sammy Patrick will officiate the service.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 9 at 1pm. Following the service, Mae will be laid to rest beside her mother at Delong Cemetery in Davella, KY
