Obituary for Lowell Thomas Marcum
Lowell Thomas Marcum 80 of Breeden, WV passed away at his home on January 10, 2023. He was born on November 15, 1942 in Breeden, WV; he was a son of the late Shirley Macel and Everett Marcum. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Everett Marcum Jr. and Clarence Beardog Marcum and his sister, Edith Marcum. He will be greatly missed by his wife of nearly 60 years, Geraldine Chafins Marcum, his children, Jeffery Lowell Marcum, Sharon Marcum (John Lowe), Crystal (Brent) Newsome, Melissa (Johnny) Collins, Jeffrey Thomas (Kim) Marcum, Austin Marcum, Hunter Marcum, Hayleigh Marcum.
He cherished his grandchildren, Jen (Jimmy) Payne, Joe Marcum, Jason (Amber) Marcum, Brandon (Jaunita) Marcum, Nathan Marcum, Tommy (Jessica) Marcum, Alyssa Marcum, Aaron Marcum, Christopher (Brooke) Newsome, Joshua (Makayla) Newsome, Crissy Newsome, Brantley Newsome, Angelina Collins, Isaiah Collins, Ezra Collins, Maci Collins, Tiffany Marcum, Mia Marcum, Liam Marcum, and Josh Marcum, as well as a multitude of great grandchildren. His sisters, Patricia Coverdale and Kay (Dwight) Deskins, his brothers, Lionel Marcum, Jerry Marcum, and Tim (Hazel) Marcum. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a wise man that could repair anything and would lend a helping hand to anyone.
Visitation will be from 6-8pm Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the funeral home with funeral services being conducted on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 11:00am at the funeral home with James Ed Baisden officiating. Burial will follow in the Chafins Cemetery of Marrowbone, WV. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be serving the family of Lowell Thomas Marcum.
