Obituary for Linda Sue Jewell
Linda Sue Stanley Jewell 68 of Warfield, KY went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Cornerstone Hospital in Huntington, WV. She was born on May 12, 1954 in Martin County, KY; she was a daughter of the late Freeman and Bertha Mullins Stanley. Linda is preceded in death by her brothers, Howard, Everette, Lloyd Ray, Chester, Erving, and Garreth Stanley and 4 sisters, Edith Faye Maynard, Hazel Scott, Ethel Mae Brewer, and Shirley Arnold. She was a homemaker and member of the Union United Baptist Church of mouth of Emily for many years. Linda loved her family and the Lord.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Leroy Jewell of Pilgrim, KY; two daughters, Angela (Ricky) Thornsbury of Ransom, KY and Regina (Brian) McCoy of Tutor Key, KY and one sister, Josephine (Dean) Tiller of Morehead, KY, and one brother, Don (Elaine) Stanley of Johnstown, OH. She was a devoted grandmother to 3 grandchildren; Brittany (Shawn) Marcum, Taylor (Lexie) Thornsbury, Austin (Tanika) McCoy and 3 great grandchildren; Vanden Thornsbury, Finley Marcum, and Braxton McCoy. Linda leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family member which she loved dearly. She was always cooking and helping plan family gatherings. Even though she is no longer with us, she will be in our hearts and memories forever.
Visitation will be held after 6pm Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at the Union United Baptist Church (Mouth of Emily) with funeral services being held on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 1pm with Terry Harmon and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Memorial Gardens of Louisa, KY. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be serving the family of Linda Sue Stanley Jewell.
