Lillian Faye Zeek, 85, of Grey Eagle, West Virginia went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 28, 2021. Born September 30, 1935 in Wayne County, West Virginia, Lillian was the daughter of the late Lonie and Opal (Hall) Messer. In addition to her parents, Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Zeek, daughter Jacqueline “Jackie” Gillman, sons Larry Gillman and William “Butch” Gillman, and brothers Roy Messer, Claude (Chila) Messer, Forest (Merlie) Messer, Walter (Francis) Messer, Troy (Marylee) Messer, Ernest Messer, and Dewey Messer.
Lillian leaves behind a host of loved ones to cherish her memory, including three sons, Randy Gillman of Kermit, West Virginia, Bobby (Wanda) Zeek of Fort Gay, West Virginia, and Billy (Debbie) Zeek of Fort Gay, West Virginia; two daughters, Kathy Gillman of Grey Eagle, West Virginia and Tina (Larry) Grace of Williamson, West Virginia; two brothers, Jesse (Wanda) Messer of Pataskala, Ohio and Eugene (Cathy) Messer of Etna, Ohio; two sisters, Mary (Bill) Smyers of Pataskala, Ohio and Ruth Williamson of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Marylee Messer of Pataskala, Ohio and Annette Messer of Etna, Ohio; ten grandchildren, Latosha (Josh) Scott of Hurricane, West Virginia, Marissa (Anthony) Nortz of Hurricane, West Virginia, Brian (Billie) Gillman of Pataskala, Ohio, Courtney (Aaron) Fletcher of Louisa, Kentucky, Josh Zeek of Fort Gay, West Virginia, Bobby Ryan Zeek of Fort Gay, West Virginia, Alexis Hundley of Prichard, West Virginia, Amy Zeek of Maryland, Billy (BJ) Zeek of Kermit, West Virginia, and Jonathan Zeek of Fort Gay, West Virginia; twelve great grandchildren, Jake Gillman, Erica Gillman, Garin Scott, Landry Scott, Abigail Zeek, Gavin Zeek, Benjamin Zeek, Kayden Zeek, Ava Zeek, Audra Zeek, Austin Zeek, and Madison Nichols; and host of very special nieces, nephews, and friends.
Lillian was a devoted wife and follower of Christ and truly felt her calling was providing for others through the power of food and fellowship. While Lillian felt most at home in either her kitchen or her pew at East Kermit Church of God, she spent a great portion of her life providing for the youth as a cook within the Mingo County school system. As many of her family and friends can attest, there wasn’t much that couldn’t be cured through Lillian’s biscuits and gravy and a good prayer.
Lillian was a loving wife, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother whose memory and impact will not soon be forgotten. She will be greatly missed.
