Obituary for Larry "Bug" Johnson

Larry “Bug” Johnson 65 of Kermit, WV went home to be with the Lord on November 15, 2019 at Kings’ Daughters Medical Center, AIMS Unit after suffering from a Pulmonary Fibrosis post open heart surgery. Larry was born on September 20, 1954 at home in Kermit, WV. He was the first born son of the late Nella Mae (Tootsie) Evans and Bryant Johnson of Kermit, WV. Larry was partially raised by his paternal grandparents, the late Eliza (Maw) and James (Poppy) Johnson of Kermit, WV.
He was preceded in death by many special loved ones but to keep it short we will only list a few. Two sisters, Tennessee (Tenna) Armstrong of Warfield, KY and Linda Sue Johnson of Kermit, WV, Maternal grandparents, Myrtle and Dockie Johnson of Kermit, WV, special nephew, Jeremia Johnson and great nephew, Russel Johnson of Crum, WV, nephew, Michael Johnson of Kermit, WV, special uncle, Bill Johnson of Columbus, OH, and the mother of his son, Linda Underwood of Columbus, OH.
He is survived by his son, Jay Johnson of Kermit, WV, grandsons; Jason Johnson of Kermit, WV, Tyler Johnson of NY, and their mother, Pam of NY. He is also survived by a special friend, but more like a grandson, Buddy Castle of Crum, WV, 1 brother, Earl Johnson of Crum, WV, 3 sisters, Anna Lean Horn of Kermit, WV, Myrtle Faye (Rick) Dials of Warfield, KY, Avis Bragg of Crum, WV, and a special aunt, Belinda Zanders. Larry’s family would like to say a special thank you to nurse, Tracey in the CICU unit, Nurse Ashley of the AIMS unit, and Nurse Practitioner, Todd of the AIMS unit at KDMC. Larry had told the nurse practitioner and I quote, “I’ve got a better place to go.”
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at the Mullins Family Funeral Home at 7:00pm with Rick Dials and Stuart Martin officiating. Visitation will be from 2-9pm at the Mullins Family Funeral Home. At Larry’s request cremation will follow the services. In Lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be serving the family of Larry “Bug” Johnson.
