Johnny Reed, 91 of Inez, KY went home to be with the Lord on September 9, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his family and friends. Johnny was born on October 13, 1927 in Three Forks, KY to the late Ralph and Carrie Stacy Reed. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Bill of Columbus, OH, James of Inez, KY, Ray of Lovely, KY, and Arnold of Lovely, KY. He was a logger by trade.
Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Helen (Stacy) Reed as well as his children; Rosalie (Mitchell) Jude of Lovely, KY, Connie (Michael) Sturgill of Paintsville, KY, John (Betty) Reed of Inez, KY, Anita Kay Harmon of Fallsburg, KY, Don (Kitty) Reed of Inez, KY, and Alice (Dwayne) Southers of Louisa, KY. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; Kimberly (Coty) Sheppard of Naugatuck, WV, Joelene (Michael) Perkins of Webbville, KY, Derrick (Chelsea) Reed of Louisa, KY, Kareana (Adam) Cross of Jacksonville, Fl, Lisa (Thomas) Charles of Rutledge, TN, Shawna Ramey of Morristown, TN, Mirissa (Miles) Duncil of Ashland, KY, Kara (Bob) York of Fallsburg, KY, Carly Kirk of Fallsburg, KY, Dawson and Logan Southers of Louisa, KY. Johnny also leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren as well as 1 brother, Albert Reed of Otway, OH, and 2 sisters, Mary Bailey of Columbus, OH and Bertha Jane Reed of Inez, KY.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 10th after 7pm and all day Wednesday, September 11th at the Middle Fork United Baptist Church of Inez, KY. Funeral services will be at the church on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at 1:00pm with Gene Burnett, Walker Fields, and Claude Mollett officiating. Burial will follow in the Reed Family Cemetery on Little Rockcastle Road, Inez, KY. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be serving the family of Johnny Reed.
