Obituary for Helen Reed (Stacy)

Helen Stacy Reed of Inez, KY went to be with the Lord on March 5, 2021. Helen was born on January 10th, 1939 in Three Forks, KY. to the late Jeff and Ollie (Moore) Stacy. She was preceded in death by her husband Johnny Reed of 61 years, brothers Clarence Stacy, and Sampson Stacy, sisters Mary (Stacy) Richardson, May (Stacy) Sites. She was a former employee of the Martin County Health Care Facility. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and home maker. Her biggest joy was serving the Lord and fellowshipping with her church brothers and sisters and taking care of her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Middle Fork United Baptist church for almost 50 years.
Helen is survived by her children Rosalie (Mitchell) Jude of Lovely, KY; Connie (Michael) Sturgill of Paintsville, KY; John (Betty) Reed of Inez, KY; Anita (Kay) Harmon of Fallsburg, KY; Don (Kitty) Reed of Inez, KY; and Alice (Dwayne) Southers of Louisa, KY. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Joelene (Michael) Perkins of Louisa, KY; Kimberly (Coty) Sheppard of Naugatuck, WV; Mirissa (Miles) Duncil of Ashland, KY; Derrick (Chelsea) Reed of Louisa, KY; Kara (Bob) York of Fallsburg, KY; Dawson and Logan Southers of Louisa, KY; Carly Kirk of Fallsburg, KY; Karena (Adam) Cross of Jacksonville, FL; Lisa (Thomas) Charles of Rutledge, TN and Shawna (Jimmy) Clark of Morristown TN. Helen also leaves behind 12 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; as well as 1 brother Elmer “Bud” (Nina) Stacy and 3 sisters, Dora (Jesse) Dillon, Sadie (Ricky) Marcum and Azzie (George) Adkins. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing this loving, kind and compassionate woman.
Services will be held at the Middle Fork United Baptist church with visitation for family from 4-6pm and public Sunday, March 7th after 6:00 PM for the friends with the funeral will be Monday, March 8th at 1:00 PM. She will be laid to rest in the family Cemetery on Little Rock castle Road, Inez, Ky. Due to the COVID-19 virus all attendees are required to wear masks and practice social distancing.
