Obituary for Etsel Rose

Etsel Rose 67 of Kermit, WV was received by the angels to go to be with the Lord on November 9, 2020. He was surrounded by his family, who adored him. Etsel was born on August 15, 1953, the first born of 12 children to Ken and Phyllis Rose; his brothers and sisters include; Hershel, Charles, Dixie, Kenny, Alvis, Wendell, Floyd, Bonnie, Bobby, Garland, and Shawn. Etsel married a beautiful young lady, who was the sister of his best friend, David Stiltner, her name was Lavonne, on November 24, 1971 and became a part of another great family that included; Wayne, Diane, Randall, David, Greg, Melissa, Dwayne, and Stephanie. Etsel and Lavonne went on to have 2 baby girls, LaEuna and Jennifer Rose.
There are so many other family members that he loved and shared his life with including, sister and brother in laws, and a host of nieces and nephews. To Etsel there was only one thing greater than his love for his family and that was his love for God. Etsel went on to join church and serve the Lord and his journey lead him to the Naugatuck Church of God, where he pastored the best congregation in the world for 30 years. The Naugatuck Church of God became his family as well and his love for them was tremendous.
Let us not neglect to mention his love and pride for his grandchildren. Etsel was the very proud papaw of Chandler, Ryan, and Justin. He adored them and spoiled them beyond measure and that love was returned 100%. He later became the grandfather to Mason, Blake, and Chris, who he shared his love and life and many wonderful times.
A huge hole has definitely been left in our heart and in our lives but we know he is rejoicing in the Lord as we honor him here on earth. Until we meet again you will never be forgotten as the best husband, daddy, papaw, brother, and pastor that ever was.
We love you with our whole hearts,
Lavonne, LaEuna, Mike, Jennifer, Randy, and Boys, and Brody who misses you terribly.
By the request of the family, all services will be private. He will be laid to rest in the Mt. View Memory Gardens of Maher, WV. In response to Covid-19 virus, all attendees are required to wear masks and to practice social distance guidelines. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be serving the family of Etsel Rose.
