Obituary for Ernest Maynard

Ernest Maynard 86, of Breeden, WV passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at the Hazard ARH Hospital in Hazard, KY. He was born on May 26, 1934; he was a son of the late Albert and Peggie Taylor Maynard. He was preceded in death by brothers, Roland, John B., Ray, and Willis Maynard, sisters, Hazel, Blanch, Frankie, Martha Mae, and 1 step-son Dallas Saunders. He was a U.S. Veteran and owned a little shop in Breeden, WV, named, Ernie’s Antiques. He was a member of the Jennies Creek Gospel Church and a member of the Kermit Lodge #167.
Ernest is survived by his wife, Imogean Painter Saunders Maynard of Breeden, WV, son, Steve (Wendy) Hickman of Breeden, WV, daughters, Glenna (Birdie) Damron of Breeden, WV, Peggie (Greg) Hall of Akron, OH as well as 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 1 stepson, Ed (Kathy) Saunders of St. Peters, MO. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, friends, loved ones, and all of his rook buddies.
Visitation will be from 11-1pm Thursday, March 18, 2021 at the Mullins Family Funeral Home with funeral services being conducted on Thursday at 1pm at the funeral home with Eugene Marcum and Roger Justice officiating. Burial will follow in the Maynard Cemetery of Breeden, WV. Due to COVID-19, all attendees are required to wear a face mask and practice social distancing. We also are only allowed 35-40 people allowed at a time in the funeral home and no food or drinks are allowed in the funeral home.
