Obituary for Dixie McMaster

Dixie McMaster 79 of Kermit, WV; went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY. She was born on July 4, 1942 in Logan, WV; she was a daughter of the late Willie and Frances Sammons Fields. Dixie was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years in 2013, Don McMaster as well as her brothers, Andy Sammons and Haskel Fields, sisters, Anna Faye Stacy, Dorothy Fields Spurlock, Rosa Bell Mayhorn, Ruby Jean Fields, and Beth Mayhorn. She is also preceded in death by a grandson, Lane Scott May and son-in-law, Darrell Spaulding. Dixie was a member of the Zion Church in Jesus Christ for over 15 years, where she enjoyed worshipping and singing for her Lord and Savior.

Dixie is survived by her children; Lisa (John) Gillman, Carol (Phillip) Stroud, Robert (Dana) Conkins, Effie (Rayburn) May, Mary Spaulding, and Donald (Kayla) McMaster, as well as her grandchildren, DJ Dillon, Ricky (Melissa) Stroud, Chad Conkins, Kellie (Peabo) Kelly, Bryan (Shelby) May, Kyle Stroud, Sarah (Mark) Marcum, Alison May, William Conkins, Kaden, Cameron, and Alyssa McMaster as well as 13 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews that she loved very much. Dixie is also survived by her sisters, Bonnie (Eddie) Hatfield, Eloise (Herbie) Leininger and Lois Marcum. The family wishes to extend a heart felt thanks to Good Shepherd Nursing Facility in Phelps, KY and to the 6th Floor Nursing staff of Pikeville Medical Center.

Visitation will be from 6-8pm Monday, May 2, 2022 at the Mullins Family Funeral Home with special services being conducted at 7pm, with funeral services being conducted on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 11:00am with Rayburn May and Phillip Stroud officiating. Burial will Fields Cemetery of Left Fork of Marrowbone Creek Road, Kermit, WV. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be serving the family of Dixie McMaster.
