Obituary for Catherine Marcum (Elkins)
Catherine (Elkins) Marcum 90, of Ft. Gay, Wv; formerly of Nolan, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 20, 2020, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 24, 1929 in Williamson, WV; she was a daughter of the late Calvin Dexter and Catherine Ann Jackson Elkins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay D. Marcum as well as granddaughter, Susan Speer, 11 siblings; Dewey, John, Ezra, Julius, Clyde, Calvin, Authula, Bess, and Oleta. She was a homemaker who loved Jesus and a member of the Nolan Freewill Baptist Church.
Catherine is survived by her children, Jay (Faye) Marcum, Russell (Carol) Marcum both of Williamson, WV, Julius and Jimmy Marcum of Ft. Gay, WV, Kathy (Paul) Parker, Terry Marcum, and Tammy Marcum and late husband, Clyde Collins all of Ft. Gay, WV as well as 15 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Robert (Jane) Elkins of Ohio.
Visitation will be conducted on Thursday, January 23, 2020 from 6-9pm at the Mullins Family Funeral Home with funeral services will being conducted on Friday, January 24, 2020 at 12:00pm with Jay Marcum officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Mt. View Memory Gardens at Maher, WV. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be serving the family of Catherine Elkins Marcum.
