Obituary for Bruce Randalll ""Bojangles"" Harris

Bruce Randall (Bojangles) Harris went home to be with the Lord and his loved ones on February 10, 2020 at Kings Daughters Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Bruce was born January 2, 1949 to the late Joe and Grace (Carroll) Harris of Thacker, WV.
Bruce served in the United States Marine Corp from March 13, 1968 to March 12, 1974 and was a decorated Veteran of the Vietnam War. Bruce was a proud Marine and lived by the motto, “Once a Marine, Always A Marine.” He served his country with pride, honor, and respect. He was awarded several medals and ribbons, two of which was a Bronze Star with a Combat V and a Purple Heart with Device. Bruce loved his Country and always upheld the American Flag and what it stood for.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers, Kenneth Harris, Angelee Harris, Jack Harris, and Jerry Ron Harris. Three sisters, Fredia Ann Ward, Thelma Jean Pierce, and Phyllis June May, mother and father in law, Ernest and Delphia Kirk, sister in law, Mary Kirk Messer and many other loved ones.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Sharon Kirk Harris, two daughters, Amanda (Raymond) Jeffries of Circleville, OH and Michelle (Chris) Stacy of Breeden, WV, two sons, Keith (Lori) Marcum of Kermit, WV and Micah Marcum of Dunlow, WV, one sister, Kathy Harris Christian of Huntington, WV. His seven grandchildren who were his pride and joy Hannah Romans, Enoch Keith Marcum, Alyson Marcum, Kailyn Stacy, Harleigh Maynard, Kimber Stacy, Jacob (Jackson) Jeffries. He is also survived by his sister in laws, Maxie (William) Collins, Violet White, and Kimberly (Steve) Mann, a brother in law Larry Messer, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He also had two very special friends who he thought of as sons, Mel Romans of Columbus, OH and Terry Maynard of Inez, KY.
Pallbearers will be Chris Stacy, Raymond Jeffries, Mel Romans, Mitchell Ray White, William Ernest Collins, David Collins, Terry Maynard, and Jordan White. Honorary pallbearers are Joshua Mann, Donnie Parsons, Jameson Messer, Steven Messer, Kyler Messer, and Logan Messer.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 13, 2020 from 6:00pm-9:00pm, Friday from 4:00pm-9:00pm with special services at 7:00pm at the Mullins Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 1:00pm at the Breeden Church of God with Phillip Perry, Kenneth Allen, and Enoch Newsome officiating. Burial will follow in the Charley Kirk Cemetery in Breeden, WV. Visitation will begin at 11:00am at the church on Saturday. To close out here is a saying of Bojangles, “Not as Lean, Not as Mean, still a Marine.” Semper Fidelis.
