Obituary for Bonnie Jean Evans

Bonnie Jean Evans, born September 13, 1947 in Naugatuck, WV; the daughter of Marion and Merkie Davis, entered Heaven on January 6, 2022. Bonnie, along with her husband, Amos, made Oppy, KY their home, together raising a beautiful family and leaving behind a legacy of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren along with countless cherished friends and family. Bonnie was a lifelong member of Oppy Church of God, where she enjoyed singing praises to our Lord and serving him and her community in numerous ways. Bonnie enjoyed attending gospel concerts, her favorite being the Carolina Boys and thrift shopping with her family and friends.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Amos Evans, sister, Geraldine (Jim) Bluhm, and brothers, Marion (Sally) Davis Jr., Willard Glenn (Cindy) Davis, Andrew (Marylou) Davis and her beloved grandson, Robert Keaton Mahon.

Bonnie is survived by her sisters, Maxine (Don) Newman, Sylvia Jean (Malcom) Damron, and Lois (Dennis) Workman; her children, Dwayne (Mary Ayers) Evans, and Kimberly (Bobby) Mahon as well as her grandchildren, Kayla (Jake) Eller, Rachel (William) Hinkle, Carson Mahon, Landon Mahon, and Shyla Mae Watson; great grandchildren, Liam Wilder Eller and Madison Rae Hinkle.

Visitation will be conducted on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 from 12-2pm at the Oppy Church of God with funeral services being conducted on Tuesday at 2pm with Joe Mullins officiating. Burial will immediately follow at the Evans Cemetery of Stepp Branch, Oppy, KY.
The family wishes to express their gratitude and love for each and everyone able to attend the services and requests that during the COVID pandemic and recent rise in the number of cases, that all attendees follow masking and social distancing protocol during the services. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be serving the family of Bonnie Jean Evans.
