Obituary for Bascom Callahan Preston
Bascom Callahan Preston 64 of Inez, KY went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, KY. He was born on September 14, 1955 in Louisa, KY; he was a son of the late Bascom (John) Preston Jr. and Nola Cook Preston. Besides his parents, Bascom is preceded in death by the mother of his children; Cheryl (Sherri) Preston as well as his son, Joseph Preston. He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of the Zion United Baptist Church (Pack Bottom).
Bascom is survived by his son, Brian Preston of Dry Ridge, KY and daughter, Penny Preston of Winchester, KY as well as his siblings; Johnnie Preston of Florida, Leonard Allen and Robert Preston both of Inez, KY, Stella Preston Dillon of Louisa, KY, Norma Preston Jarrell of Tomahawk, KY, Lois Jean Preston Smith of Inez, KY, Ruth Ann Preston Runyon of Louisa, KY, Brenda Preston Johnson of Inez, KY, Julia Faye Preston Chance of Tomahawk, KY, and Evelene Preston Johnson of Winchester, KY as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and extended family and friends.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 after 5pm at the Zion United Baptist Church(Pack Bottom) of Milo, KY with special services at 7:00pm. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 1:00pm at the church with Lonnie Ratliff, Maurice Mills, and Joe Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in the Preston Cemetery of Tomahawk, KY. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
