Obituary for Avanell "Nellie" Lambert

Avanell (Nellie) Lambert 84, of Phelps, KY formerly of Crum, WV went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY. She was born on May 12, 1936 in Hazel Green, KY; she was a daughter of the Late Elisha and Bessie Fern Taulbee Chambers. Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, William Lambert, son, Larry Dean Williams, great grandchild, Amariah Key, as well as siblings; Charles, Denzil, and Billy J. Chambers, Marcella Boyd, Naomi Scott and Arnita Stovall. Nellie was a chef at the Steakhouse of South Williamson, KY and was a member of the Warfield Church of God.
Nellie is survived by her children, Ronnie Gunther and Michael (Debrina) Williams of Delbarton, KY, Danny (Janet) Williams of Phelps, KY, and Maria Laney of Matewan, KY as well as 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild. Nellie is also survived by her siblings, Joseph Cleveland Chambers of Beatyville, KY, Gerald Chambers of Lebanon, Oh, Karen Mahon of Germantown, OH, Anna Mae Charnesky of Mt. Sterling, KY, Nancy Thompson of Booneville, KY and special brother in law, Greg Charnesky.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 12:00pm at the Delbarton Regional Church of God with Mitchell Bias officiating. Visitation will be from 6-9pm on Tuesday at the church. Private burial will take place at the Hazel Green Cemetery of Hazel Green, KY. In response to the COVID-19 Virus, all attendees are required to wear masks and adhere to social distancing guidelines set forth by the CDC.
